Episode 313, "The Firebending Masters" Aired Last Night on YTV

YTV forged ahead last night with the world premiere broadcast of episode 313, "The The Firebending Masters." YTV seldom gives episode titles or descriptions on its broadcast schedule on the company's website, but it seems YTV is using the 8:30PM slot on Friday nights to broadcast new episodes of Avatar. Another episode is scheduled for broadcast on January 11th and another on January 18th. No titles or descriptions are given, but then neither were there any for the episode broadcast last night. We shall have to wait and see!

No information is available at this time on the date of the US premiere or the premiere in other countries for episodes past "The Day of Black Sun".

Animation Insider Article on Avatar Supervising Director

Animation Insider has published a terrific article on Avatar Supervising Director Oh Seung-hyun. Oh has played several roles on the staff of Avatar, including storyboarding, character design, backgrounds and directing.

The article contains a review of Oh's career including how he got started in an industry where many more people want to get involved than there are jobs to go around. Apparently he started off at an animation job that payed $95 a month and worked his way up from there! Check it out if you haven't had a chance by clicking on the AI logo above.

Broadcast Schedule Updates: Nick.com has updated its online schedule and the episode this Friday will be 301, "The Awakening", not a new episode. Sorry folks. Also, YTV's schedule still does not show an episode title or description for the episode at 8:30 PM EST this Friday. Our Canadian fans will just have to tune and see what's broadcast.

Season Three, Volume III DVD Release Date Announced

The release date for the third DVD set for season three of Avatar has been announced by Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment. The street date for the set, which will include episodes 311 through 315 of the new season, is May 6th, 2008. Please see the full write up on TVShowsOnDVD.com which contains further details.

Second DVD Set: Also, don't forget that the second volume DVD set, pictured at right, goes on sale today! This set contains episodes 306 through 310.

Broadcast Schedule Updates: No new episodes have been broadcast anywhere since our last update. There is still no word on when new episodes will resume here in the United States.

Just a quick post on recent ASN site updates. We've added:

• Transcripts for "The Avatar and the Fire Lord", "Nightmares and Daydreams" and for "The Day of Black Sun, Part 2: The Eclipse"


• Screenshot database entries for the DVD screenshots of "Avatar Day" and the TV screenshots of "The Runaway" and "The Puppetmaster." You can now search against those episodes in the database and get results.


• The crew credits for 309, 310 and 311. The credits are now fully up to date.

The next set of DVD screenshots, the last missing transcript, more database work and the revamped episode review system are next on the docket.
