Background: Sela is Gansu's wife and the mother of Lee and his older brother, Sen Tzu. She and her family run a farm in a small Earth Kingdom village. When her oldest son went to war against the Fire Nation, she was left with her second son, Lee, to care for.

Personality: Sela is a kind woman but is clearly very stressed with the burdens of her family and running a farm. She is very respectful and is willing to welcome strangers into her home if she believes them to be good enough people. As a mother Sela is very protective of her children, and though she appears to be a very strong woman, she is not above asking for help when she is in over her head. It would appear that she, like many others in the Earth Kingdom, also has a strong hatred for the Fire Nation.
